In this program, we will be setting our intentions, then opening the energetic pathways of the body with several Qigong styles to release stuck qi and absorb new and vital life force energy. Each day will begin with a morning mindful walking meditation to help clear our minds and set our focus for the day’s practice. The movements we will practice are suitable for all levels and most can be adapted for those who have difficulty standing.

Robert Evans is a certified qigong instructor with the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi. He has been teaching qigong for 16 rears. He is also a certified yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (RYT 500) and he also studied yoga therapy at Loyola Marymount University. Robert is a certified personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist and is currently studying the physics and biomechanics of movement. To learn more, visit www.omojai.com.

 Wednesday
  • 6:30 – 7:30 – Evening Dinner
  • 7:30 – 9:00 – Evening Introductory Session

Thursday – Saturday

  • 8:00 – Breakfast
  • 10:00 – Noon – Morning Session
  • 12:30 – Lunch
  • 6:00 – Dinner
  • 7:00 – 9:00 – Evening Session

Afternoons are generally open to explore the Parks, hike, swim, socialize, read, rest, or enjoy other activities.

Sunday morning session after breakfast: 10 a.m. – noon. Program adjourns after Sunday lunch.

Join me for a hike to Chorro Grande Falls!

Date: Saturday, November 19th

On this hike we will follow an ancient Chumash Indian trail along Chorro Grande Creek. Along the way we will explore the Fossil Creek Trail. This secret trail follows an ancient riverbed that is filled with fossils from several million years ago when this area was under the ocean. We will also visit an old  Chumash camping site that is located beneath the cliffs next to the waterfall. At the base of the waterfall is a pool that was used as a cistern to hold water in the dry months. Please join us on this adventure!

We will meet at Nordhoff High school parking lot in Ojai at 8:00am. From here we will car pool to the trail head. Driving time is approx 40 minutes. Plan on being gone at least 5 hours.

Things you will need for this hike:

  • Dress in layers, (starts out cool but could get hot)
  • Comfortable hiking shoes
  • Hat & Sunscreen
  • Lots of water
  • Sack lunch & snacks
  • Camera (optional)

The cost for this hike is $25 per person.

Join me at the Summer Solstice Celebration

SUMMER SOLSTICE CHUMASH BLESSING AND YOGA @ PIEDRA BLANCA

SUNDAY JUNE 19th at 9.A.M.

Carpooling is highly recommended as parking at the Piedra Blanca Trailhead is limited.

Travel time to trail head from Ojai approximately ½ hour

Leaving from Nordhoff High School in Ojai you will head North on Hwy 33 for 15 miles. Next you turn right onto Rose Valley Road. You will take Rose Valley road all the way to the Piedra Blanca parking lot. Once there follow the trail to Piedra Blanca. Allow ½ hour to hike the 1 mile trail to the event. The Chumash Blessing Ceremony with Julie Tumamite will begin around 9 AM followed by Flowing into Grace Yoga with Robert Evans. Next for those interested we are offering a guided hike along the Sespe River Trail to Paradise Springs for a swim and lunch. All ages welcome.

A portion of your donations will go to the Barbareno/ Ventureno Band of Mission Indians a Chumash nonprofit organization and also to the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy.

Things you will need to bring;

  • Yoga Mat or towel.
  • We do have extra yoga mats so if you don’t have one you will need to contact us in advance so we can bring you one.
  • Water, at least 2 liters per person.
  • Hat / Sunscreen / Bug repellent.
  • Snack / Lunch optional.

Please note: this time of year the rocks and sand really heat up and can burn dog’s feet so please be mindful of this.
