We are excited to announce our hike schedule for 2022. On the second Saturday of each month we will be offering different hiking experiences. Our first hike will be to the amazing Piedra Blanca on Saturday May 21st 2022. This hike will be led by a local geologist who will share his knowledge of these unique rock formations and the history of the area.This part of the hike is approximately 1.5 miles. It is not very difficult though there are a couple of stream crossings. We will also offer an option of continuing on to Paradise Springs swimming hole, about another mile, for lunch under an ancient Oak tree. We will be meeting at Nordhoff High school parking lot at 8:30 AM and caravan approximately 17 miles to the trailhead. Please wear sturdy shoes, bring a hat,sunscreen, plenty of water, lunch and snacks. Plan on spending several hours to experience this magnificent area. The price for this hike is $40 per person but your memories will be priceless.

Sunday April 8th.  Meet @ Nordoff H.S in Ojai @ 8am.

Join us on this challenging hike.  The trail follows Potrero John creek through a narrow gorge and up the canyon.  There are open meadows dotted with red manzanita trees and magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. The day will be filled with adventure and memories.  Our goal is to reach the beautiful waterfall. This is where we will rest and enjoy lunch.  This hike is approx. 8 miles round trip.  This is a technically challenging trail.

Things you will need for this hike:

  • Dress in layers- it’s cold, (possible snow leftovers)
  • Comfortable shoes-extra socks.
  • Camera
  • Food-Snacks+Lunch
  • Water

Cost for this hike is $25 per person.  Trail dogs are welcome.

In this program, we will be setting our intentions, then opening the energetic pathways of the body with several Qigong styles to release stuck qi and absorb new and vital life force energy. Each day will begin with a morning mindful walking meditation to help clear our minds and set our focus for the day’s practice. The movements we will practice are suitable for all levels and most can be adapted for those who have difficulty standing.

Robert Evans is a certified qigong instructor with the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi. He has been teaching qigong for 16 rears. He is also a certified yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (RYT 500) and he also studied yoga therapy at Loyola Marymount University. Robert is a certified personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist and is currently studying the physics and biomechanics of movement. To learn more, visit www.omojai.com.

Afternoons are generally open to explore the Parks, hike, swim, socialize, read, rest, or enjoy other activities.

Sunday morning session after breakfast: 10 a.m. – noon. Program adjourns after Sunday lunch.
